The IZIP Tricruiser has been especially popular with older customers and is one of our best selling electric bike models. It makes commuting easy and fun and has plenty of storage space for carrying groceries, packages or supplies. No need to worry about keeping your balance, the three-wheel design makes it easy for almost anyone to ride regardless of age, physical ability or bike riding experience.
The IZIP Tricruiser includes a removable 36V/12AH sealed lead acid (SLA) battery mounted below the seat which adds about 25lbs of additional weight. Simply lift the lever, and the battery can easily be removed for storage or charging. It has an excellent range of 30-35 miles (with pedaling), but riders should expect closer to 15-25 miles under normal riding conditions.
With the same 450w chain-drive motor included on many IZIP electric bike models, the Tricruiser has plenty of power and torque. But with 36 volts instead of 24 - this bike has outstanding acceleration! Because it's throttle-controlled, you can let the motor do all the work or you can pedal along to help extend your range. But if you run out of power, you'll only have 1-speed to work with which can limit your ability on hills or over rough terrain.
Opinions & Recommendations:
With it's exceptional range and power, the IZIP Tricruiser is great for commuting around town. Although it lacks the gearing provided on a standard bike, the extra capacity of the 36V battery will allow you to handle almost any terrain with ease. It doesn't have suspension, but if you're looking for a comfortable commuter and don't have the balance you used to, the IZIP Tricruiser is a great choice. It's easy to get on-and-off and there's no need to worry about falls.
